Congrats to you Keith! Good to know that somebody actually won the WotC contest - I already know plenty who didn't (myself included) ... :)

Wow! Good guys do come in first once in awhile!

Somehow, I skipped over this thread before ... sounds awesome! Will the B-Rex comic and the B-Rex game eventually collide? It sounds like there's quite a lot of potential for an "event" sourcebook to be based on a comic storyline. (Besides, I want to be able to buy a "Peaches" so...

Oh yes ... Warhammer 40K. God only knows how many hours I invested in that. You reminded me of an element of 40K that was shamelessly ripped off and inserted into my own and my friend's D&D games - the Harlequin Warriors. The miniatures were too cool not to buy, and once painted were too cool no...

Cyborg Commando

Anybody remember the rpg Cyborg Commando? It was one of Gary Gygax's first post-TSR games (I think) - it featured a post-apocalyptic type game world, when alien bugs were busy invading and conquering the Earth, and players represented the resistance to invading forces. The rules were (& are) a l...

Ruse and Sojourn

are the two Crossgen books that I'd love to convert to rpgs someday. Ruse is a Sherlock Holmes-styled story that (to me) would be perfect for a d20 "Modern" (actually, more like d20 19th-Century) campaign featuring mysteries, intrigue, and perhaps some Lovecraft-type horror. Sojourn is pur...

Gaming Influences?

The "What are you playing" thread got me thinking - what games/adventures have influenced your own original games or campaigns? Not comic, movies, or other things that (obvious) have an influence on the creative process - but just pure gaming influences. In my own case, the 1st ed. ...

Getting back to What are you playing?

Got two d20 campaigns right now that I'm running. They've actually been on hold for the past few months, but I'm about to get them started back up again. The first a long-running D&D campaign that had its origins in the Warhammer FRPG, was converted to 2nd ed. AD&D, and is now in its newest ...

The B-Rex sourcebook I would love to see is one on cavemen - Cro-Magnon, Neandertal, and so on. The Discovery Channel ran some really cool specials on them not too long along, including some "what if" stuff on how the Neandertal race might've evolved if we li'l homo sapiens hadn't knocked ...

Definitely weirdness

Weirdness is something I always leaned towards in my own homebrew campaigns. However, I also leaned towards (and still do) weird sourcebooks to buy/use/cannibalize. If a gaming book is fairly straightforward, I'll probably do something nutty to spice it up anyway - but if it's already got some weird...

Star Frontiers

Planescape would be uber-cool - but the game I drool over someday being able to do, d20 style or otherwise, is Star Frontiers. THAT was a game that consumed my life as a kid. I remeber going up to Toys R' Us as a kid on a weekly basis (back when Toys R' Us actually CARRIED rpgs) and always searching...
