No GenCon 2011 tourney?

I'm sad to see no DCC tourney at GenCon again this year.

Re: The Friday Knights in Thunderspire Labyrinth (with Pics).

I'm really missing these updates! I need a fix.

Thanks Goonalan for all the great write-ups... it's been like I was there! I hope my group enjoys the adventures as much as your group has.

Re: The Friday Knights in Thunderspire Labyrinth (with Pics).

I'm jonesing for an update! My mouth waters for these recaps each week and I'm overdue!

This is just fabulous stuff and is giving me many great ideas for my campaign. Thanks for all the effort... it is appreciated.

Re: The Friday Knights in Raid on Fallcrest

I'm loving this campaign story! It's a great read and is particularly interesting to me as I just took my group through H1: Keep on the Shadowfell and was thinking of swinging them through Fallcrest before moving on to H2: Thunderspire Labyrinth. This thread has convinced me to do exactly that! Than...

Re: DCC Tournament 2009

*****Spoiler Alert****** I will say that the sorta algebraic, high school math solution we found for the puzzle -- which got us to a totally valid, correct answer -- was a lot harder than the elementary school level solution that the designers intended for us to use. So, in other words, the team na...

Re: DCC Tournament 2009

Bifster, I can always count on you for a fantastic write-up. Thanks man! Glad to pitch in. I love recounting all our mistakes so others can laugh at us. So, can anyone fill me in on what we missed? It was pretty clear there was more to do with the constellations but we just didn't feel we could tak...

Re: DCC Tournament 2009

Ah, yes. I was wondering how the 1st room would go... Did you try to gang up on one of them? How far did your group get? Ugh. *** [be warned... there be spoilers aplenty ahead] *** We chose cleric, paladin, warlock, wizard and druid/ranger, so we knew we were good on healing but a little weak on fi...

Re: DCC Tournament 2009

It was... HARD! Not to whine... OK, I'll totally whine. It was HARD! We had a quiet DM and a really loud room, a table change and then another (non DCC) GM scream at us for being in her spot (GenCon moved our table and failed to update her to her liking.) So it's a little irritating that we made sev...

Forum RSS question

Am I missing the RSS buttons or is it not enabled on this board?

It really saves me a lot of time to have posts sent via RSS to my Reader. Is that an option for these forums or is it planned?

Re: DCC Tournament Year Five (now with spoilers)

I loved it! We got obliterated in round one and I still loved it. To be honest, I got in with generics with a buddy of mine who doesn't play D&D much, so my hopes of advancing were ridiculously low. We got paired up with two other guys who seemed nice but who we didn't know from Adam. Hey... tha...

I am really interested in this discussion. I've barely played and haven't DM-ed since 1992, so I'm a little out of the loop. A little. Just a bit. I completely skipped 2nd Ed. I played a handful of 3.5 games at GENCON and I've played a few computerized versions of 3.5 like Neverwinter Nights 2 (curr...

No need for anyone to watch these auctions. I'll be buying them and I don't need anyone running up the price. Nothing to see here folks. Just kidding. But I will be watching those auctions and I'll buy them if they go for cheap. Something tells me they might end up going for more than the $0.99 star...

Re: Underdogs RULE

Glad you had fun in the tournament! Look for the complete edition of Palace of the Wastes to be available before Gen Con next year (around June or July). -- Joseph Ouch! I was thinking, like... Christmas. At least now I know. Thanks for the info. And just to be clear, I don't care if it's 3 years f...

Tales from Team Underdog

I'm not sure if anyone will want to hear from the Underdogs, the team that ranked 25th out of 28 in the first round of the the GenCon tournament this year. Yes, the team that only covered three rooms, accomplished virtually nothing and had very little points to show for it. And I'm not sure you coul...

When will Palace in the Wastes be avail?

Howdy folks! I posted this in another thread, then realized it fit here better! Stoopid N00b! I'm a returning hard-core gamer from back in the day and my first taste of 3.5 rules was a last-minute, unplanned plunge into the DCC tournament at GenCon (my first GenCon). So, needless to say... Palace in...
